DOG-FRIENDLY PLACES TO STAY

Bringing your dog along? No problem. We offer three in-town, dog-friendly lodging options so your entire crew can stay close to the fun. Pet fees may vary by property, so check with the front desk for details when booking.

Mammoth Mountain Inn
With sweeping mountain views and ski-in, ski-out access, Mammoth Mountain Inn is a dog-friendly classic that keeps you close to the action year-round. From winter slope access to summer adventures near Devils Postpile and Rainbow Falls, it’s an easy, comfortable home base for you and your pup.

The Westin Monache Resort
The Westin offers a dog-friendly stay just steps from the Village Gondola and the shops, dining, and energy of The Village. With full-service amenities and inviting suites, it’s an easy, comfortable basecamp for exploring Mammoth with your pup.

Tamarack Lodge (Cabins Only)
Tamarack Lodge is a dog-friendly alpine retreat nestled in the Mammoth Lakes Basin, where forested trails and quiet wilderness are right outside your door. With private cabins and a relaxed, rustic feel, it’s a perfect basecamp for exploring the outdoors with your pup.

DOG-FRIENDLY THINGS TO DO

Mammoth makes it easy to get outside with your dog year-round. Local dog parks, including longtime favorite Shady Rest and the Mammoth Lakes Dog Park near Cerro Coso College, offer a reliable option in any season. Beyond the parks, summer and winter each bring their own dog-friendly ways to explore the mountains.

Summer Tip: Beware of wildlife, especially during early morning and evening hours. Always pack water – altitude and dry air can sneak up on pups, too.

Winter Walks & Snowy Strolls

  • Snowshoe or cross-country ski with your fellow snow-lover at many locations in or around town, including Shady Rest, Obsidian Dome, and Hot Creek. You can even take them out on the un-groomed areas around Tamarack Cross-Country Ski Center.

Winter Tip: Snow and ice can be tough on paws. Consider booties or paw balm, and keep walks shorter on colder days.
