Whether it’s your first day on the hill or you’re a seasoned rider who wants to demo the latest model before buying, our gear experts and MasterFit certified bootfitters will hook you up with everything you need. No matter what location you rent from, you can stop in any of our rental/demo shops for quick slopeside adjustments or to swap out your set up. You can also store your skis/board overnight free and return your equipment wherever is most convenient for you. 

Ikon Pass holders save up 15% on multi-day rentals (non-holiday) – just show your pass when you pick up your gear.


Make your reservation online up to 2 days prior to your ski trip and choose your preferred rental location. For next-day rentals, call 800.MAMMOTH by 12PM, or visit any rental location during designated set-up hours. For day-of rentals, visit any rental location. 

Premium Rental Service

Premium Rental Service

Call ahead or reserve online and select this service to have all your equipment waiting in a private locker at Main Lodge, Canyon Lodge or the Mountain Center* in The Village, pre-adjusted to your specifications. An on-site technician ensures a perfect fit, and you can visit any rental location anytime to swap out your gear.


Premium Rental Service is available for an additional $25 per person on top of rental costs. Be sure to check the little box while inputting your rental information above and don't forget to choose Main or Canyon Lodge as your rental location. Max 2 people per locker.

Demo equipment is not offered with Premium Rental Service. With pre-adjusted gear, we are unable to tailor your skis, boards and boots to the current mountain conditions and your individual skiing/riding style, which is an essential element to your demo experience.


*Premium service at the Mountain Center differs as you do not access your locker directly – a concierge will deliver/return your equipment and belongings when needed.

Performance Ski/Board Demos

Demo the latest and greatest from Head, Volkl, Blizzard, Rossignol, K2, and Salomon. Try snowboards from Never Summer, Burton, Arbor, LibTech, and more. Demo package includes skis, boots, and poles, or a snowboard, boots, and bindings. Single items also available.

Recommended for intermediate to expert skiers and riders.

Standard Plus Ski

Get more performance out of your gear by upgrading your standard rental to the 2017 Head Monster 83 or Absolut Joy for only $8 more. Standard Plus Ski package includes skis, boots, and poles. Skis are available a la carte as well.

Recommended for intermediate to expert skiers.

Standard Ski/Board

Get the gear you need to get out on the slopes. Skis and snowboards available for all age groups and skill levels. Standard package includes skis, boots, and poles, or a snowboard, boots, and bindings. Single items also available.

Recommended for beginner skiers/riders.

Main Lodge Rental & Demo Shop is located on the 2nd floor. 

Premium Rental Check-In is located on the 2nd floor in the locker room across from the Rental & Demo Shop.

Mammoth Kids at Main Lodge is located across from Main Lodge in the Panorama Gondola station and offers rental equipment for kids up to 13 years old who are enrolled in lessons. Limited rentals for parents available as well. 

Canyon Lodge

Mammoth Kids at Canyon Lodge is located on the 2nd floor and supplies rentals for kids age 4–13 enrolled in lessons.

Eagle Lodge

Rental FAQs

Do you rent helmets? 
Yes, all of our rental shops offer helmets for all ages. Helmets are required for all children 12 and under enrolled in Ski and Snowboard School lessons. Helmets can also be purchased at all rental locations.

Can I rent boots only?
Yes, we rent Standard-level ski or snowboard boots at all rental locations, or try the latest ski or snowboard boots from any of our demo shops. When renting ski boots only, remember to bring your skis so that we can ensure your bindings are properly adjusted. Please be aware that we may not be able to adjust older model ski bindings.

Do you rent winter clothing? 
Clothing rentals are not available. Winter outerwear and under layers are available for purchase at all Mammoth Sports locations at each base lodge and in The Village, as well as the Mountain Center in The Village. 

Can I pick up my skis at one location and drop them off at another? 
Yes, at any of our on-hill locations: Main, Canyon and Eagle Lodges, and Mountain Center at The Village. 

Can I exchange my ski rental for a snowboard rental? 
Yes, you may exchange your skis for a snowboard or your snowboard for skis. You can also upgrade your gear at any time – just pay the price adjustment for the changes.

Can I reserve a specific item to demo?
We do our best to accommodate any specific equipment requests you have during your demo rental, but because we allow equipment exchanges and returns any time in any of our shops, we do not guarantee specific items in advance. We tailor our demo equipment recommendations to your riding style, snow conditions, and any goals or feedback you give us in order to find the best gear for you.

What do I do with my skis at the end of the day if I am skiing the next day? 
For your convenience, all on-hill rental shops provide a complimentary overnight gear check. Space is limited and offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

How long will it take to get equipment? 
We recommend that you arrive at the rental shop at least 1 hour before hitting the slopes or before your lesson time.

Do you offer a rental + lift ticket package? 
No. We offer lesson packages for kids or adults that also include rentals and a lift ticket.

Do you offer rental discounts?
Yes, we offer advanced purchase and multi-day discounts.

  • Ikon Pass holders save 15% and Ikon Base Pass holders save 10% on all rentals (cannot be combined with advanced booking discount). 
  • Save 20% when you book any multi-day rental 7+ days ahead
  • The longer you rent, the more you save –
    +  5% additional savings if you pre-book a 2-day rental 
    + 10% additional savings if you pre-book a 3-day rental
    + 15% additional savings if you pre-book a  4-day rental
    + 20% additional savings if you pre-book a 5-day rental

Multi-day discounts are not offered during holiday periods. Child and youth rentals do not qualify for multi-day rental discounts.

Do you carry demos in child sizes? 
We offer a limited selection of demo equipment for children – skis only.

When will I pay for my rentals?
Total payment is required at time of booking for advanced reservations, or at time of purchase if renting day-of or day prior in person at the rental shop or by calling 800.MAMMOTH.  

What if I cannot decide how many days I will be renting?
If you did not pre-book a multi-day rental, you will need to return your equipment at day's end and come back each following day you would like to rent. Should you decide that you would like to rent for a longer period of time, then inform the rental shop when you return your equipment and they will accommodate your request if able (depending on rental inventory during that time frame). Multi-day discounts will not apply.

When should I return my skis/snowboard rentals?
If only renting for 1 day, please return at day's end. If renting for multiple days, please return your rental equipment at the end of your last day.

What happens if I return my equipment early? 
No refunds or credit vouchers will be issued due to wind, weather or snow conditions.

How can I speed up the rental process?

  • Save time and money by planning ahead so you can take advantage of advanced purchase and multi-day discounts – pre-book at least 2 days ahead online or by calling 800.MAMMOTH.
  • Before you pre-book or arrive at the rental shop, know the weight, height and shoe sizes of all people needing to rent equipment. Don't know everyone's shoe size? Print out our foot sizer (TIP: be sure to your set your printer to actual size).
  • Plan to arrive for rental pick up at least one hour before hitting the slopes.
  • If you're taking a lesson, arrive at the rental shop at 8am.
  • If you didn't pre-book, take care of your paperwork and fitting the day before (no extra charge). Early rental pick up is available 2–3:30PM.

What else can I purchase at rental shops? 
Lift tickets, lessons and ski necessities such as helmets, goggles, gloves, sunscreen, lip balm, neck gators, and hand warmers are all available for purchase at all rental locations.
