Infant & Toddler Care

Infant & Toddler Care

Newborns–23 Months

The nursery is fully equipped with soothing music, swings, age-appropriate toys and climbers for toddlers, high chairs, fridge, microwave, bottle warmers and more. A seating area for breast-feeding mothers and a cozy sleeping area complete with mats, cribs, clean linens and blankets round out the space.

Our professional staff will tend to your little one’s individual needs and schedule, and will help them work through any separation anxiety. The infant to staff ratio is 4:1. Please allow for a few minutes in the morning to communicate to staff typical routines, special needs, likes and dislikes your baby may have. A daily report documents your infant’s feeding, napping and diapering times throughout the day.

What to Pack

Lunch, snacks, bottles, (ready to feed is preferred – pre-mixed formula; frozen breast milk is fine), pre-filled sippy cup, diapers, wipes, spare set of clothing and any comfort items (such as a pacifier, special blanket or toy). Lunch and snacks are provided free of charge, for babies who can eat what is on the menu for the older kids for the day. (i.e. chicken nuggets, pizza, macaroni and cheese along with veggies and fruit).

NOTE: Please label all bottles, food containers, cups, pacifiers, etc. Pre-labeling your child’s belongings will expedite the check-in process and get you on the slopes quicker.

Outside Time

Typically, we do not take this age group outside due to the cold winter temperatures. On a warm spring day, we may take the toddlers on a walk or in a stroller.

Visiting or "Checking In” on Your Baby

Unless you are nursing, we recommend parents call versus visiting. Often times babies do not understand that you are “just visiting.” If your baby had a difficult time settling in during morning drop off, a mid-day visit then another good bye may upset your child all over again. Alternatively, we recommend you calling as often as you like, or leave your cell phone number for our staff to contact you based on the criteria you set forth.

Infant/toddler care may not be available every day at both locations. Our infant care spaces are very limited and sell out quickly.

Child Care FAQs

Can my children of different ages be in the same room together?

Siblings may be in the same room together as long as both are either under or over the age of 2 years. If one child is under the age of two, and the other is over age 2, we do allow the older sibling to visit the younger sibling for short periods of time as long as it is in the infant room.

Do you welcome children with special needs?

We warmly welcome children with special needs or disabilities as long as we can safely and effectively meet the needs of the child.

What if my child requires special medications?

Medication may be administered to your child upon written parental instruction.

What happens to my child in the event of an emergency?

If a child has a medical or dental emergency, he/she will be transported to Mammoth Hospital. Every attempt will be made to contact the parent immediately.

Can other people sign my child in/out of child care?

Per California Licensing regulations, parents must sign their child in and out to complete transfer of responsibility.

How are misbehaved children disciplined?

Positive redirection (or "cool down" as a last resort) is the only form of discipline used at Mammoth Child Care. Any form of discipline or punishment which violates your child's personal space is prohibited.

What do you serve for snacks and lunch?

Typical snack foods include: graham crackers, fresh fruit, cheese and crackers, cereal with milk, and apple sauce and yogurt.

  • Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays – chicken nuggets, French fries, vegetables, fresh fruit, milk
  • Tuesdays and Fridays – cheese pizza, vegetables, fresh fruit, milk
  • Wednesdays and Sundays – macaroni and cheese, vegetables, fresh fruit, milk

If your child/ren have any dietary restrictions that will not allow your child to be served what is listed above, please pack a lunch and snack for them.
