Take an aerial ride up Mammoth Mountain on the Panorama Gondola to explore all the fun at 11,053 ft. At the top, snap a selfie at the summit sign, enjoy lunch with panoramic views at the Eleven53 Café, and discover the history and wonder of the Sierra at the interpretive center.

Up to two kids (ages 12 and under) ride free with each paying adult. Free tickets for kids are available at any ticket window.

Eleven53 Interpretive Center & Café

Explore hands-on exhibits for all ages, chat with a knowledgeable docent, grab a bite at the café, and soak in panoramic views of the Sierra and beyond. This is the heart of the Explore Mammoth experience—and it's all included with your Scenic Gondola Ride ticket.

Summit Sign

Once you get to the top, step outside for a short walk to Mammoth Mountain's famous totem sign. Take a selfie and enjoy the beautiful views of the Minarets and beyond.

Operating Dates: November 20, 2025 – May 25, 2026
Load the Panorama Gondola in the building across from the Main Lodge west entrance. Check Lift & Trail Status beforehand to make sure there aren't any weather holds on the gondola. The last ride up for the day is a ride around only.

Gondola operations are subject to change or close without notice and access is not guaranteed to ticket holders.

When is the last gondola ride of the day?

The Scenic Gondola takes about 7 minutes from the base area to the top of the Mountain. Walk-up ticket sales end 30 minutes prior to closing.

KIDS RIDE FREE

Up to two kids (ages 12 and under) ride free with each paying adult. Free tickets can be obtained at any ticket window. Seniors over 80 ride free as well. All riders must be present when picking up tickets.

Can I bring my dog on the gondola?

Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome to board the Panorama Gondola during the summer months during regular daytime operations only. Dogs are not permitted on the gondola when it is running for special events.

Is the gondola open year round?

The Scenic Gondola is open year-round, weather permitting with the exception of the following maintenance dates:

  • September 22–November 13, 2025
