Free Mountain Shuttle

After you arrive in Mammoth, leave your car parked and get up to the mountain easily thanks to the Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA). This convenient bus service offers complimentary transportation all around the town of Mammoth Lakes, including each of our mountain base lodges.

Bus Routes

Summer Routes typically run from late May through early September.


With so much to see and do in Mammoth during the summer months, it's important you get to where you need with ease. Hop on the Mammoth Bike Park Shuttle to get to Main Lodge, or take the Trolley up to the Lakes Basin for a day on the lake or adventure out on a hike.

Bike Park Shuttle
Offers free transportation service between The Village and Main Lodge on a space-available basis, leaving The Village from stop #90 (on Canyon Blvd.) on the quarter from 9:00 AM–5:30 PM. The last shuttle leaves Main Lodge at 5:10 PM and and The Village at 5:30 PM. Priority is given to Bike Park riders and a valid bike park ticket is required to transport a bicycle.

Town Trolley
The Town Trolley operates approximately every 30 minutes, stopping at locations including Juniper Springs Resort, Vons, The Village, and Canyon Lodge. View Town Trolley Routes

Lakes Basin Trolley
This route provides service from The Village to the Lakes Basin area, including Tamarack Lodge. The trolley also pulls a bike trailer to transport you and your bike uphill to enjoy the downhill ride on the stunning Lakes Basin Bike Trail. View Lakes Basin Trolley Routes.

During Winter Operations

No dogs are allowed on the slopes, lifts or gondolas. This includes all areas near and around lodges, slopes, and lifts, at all times. Only working service animals are permitted inside Mammoth Mountain base lodges. Emotional support and companion dogs are not covered under ADA service animal policy and therefore are not permitted inside lodges. Dogs are permitted in our parking lots but must be leashed according to the Town of Mammoth Lakes leash laws. MMSA does not recommend leaving dogs in or tied to a vehicle, and will report any significant concerns for animal welfare to our local to animal control.

Muzzled or caged dogs are allowed on Mammoth Mountain parking shuttles as well as the free mountain shuttle system run by the Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA).

Leashed dogs are permitted to walk on the road to Minaret Vista (snow-covered in winter months), but please be cautious of skier and snowboard traffic along the Lower Road Runner ski trail.

Leashed dogs are permitted on the Public Access Corridor that runs along Lake Mary Road in the Mammoth Lakes Basin up to Horseshoe Lake. Dogs are NOT allowed on the side of the trail containing the groomed cross-country tracks trails, and are not allowed on any other groomed trails in the Lakes Basin.



During Summer Operations

Only service animals are permitted inside Mammoth Mountain base lodges. Leashed dogs are welcome to ride the Panorama Gondola for Scenic Gondola Rides, as well as be on our on-mountain hiking trails after the ski/snowboard season has ended.

Muzzled or caged dogs are allowed on Mammoth Mountain Bike Park Shuttles for transportation from The Village to Main Lodge, as well as the ESTA Reds Meadow Shuttle to Devils Postpile.

Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome on the patio and outdoor areas at Woolly's Adventure Summit. Dogs are not permitted inside the lodge.



Mammoth-Owned Dining Facilities

Only service dogs are permitted inside base lodge dining locations and sundecks, as they are also considered food service areas.


Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the patios of the following restaurants:


  • Vulcania*
  • The Patty Shack
  • Soaring Pines Mountain Café
  • Yodler Restaurant & Bar
  • Mountainside Bar & Grill

*Regular patio seating only. Dogs are not allowed in pods.


Dogs are not permitted at the following locations:


  • The Lakefront Restaurant
  • Melt House & Boundary Bar at The Outpost
  • All bars and restaurants on the mountain
