Get off the beaten path and take in the scenic sights on a snowmobile adventure through the High Sierra. Mellow cruisers and hard chargers alike will find big fun exploring over 100 miles of tree-lined trails and massive meadows on a guided excursion.

Second Rider
Double the fun by selecting second rider add-on during checkout. Second riders can either enjoy the ride as a passenger, or have a turn behind the wheel as long as both riders meet driving eligibility requirements.

Scenic Gondola
Make it a day and add a Scenic Gondola Ride ticket at checkout. Hop on the Panoramic Gondola before or after your tour for a ride up to the very top of Mammoth Mountain at 11,053 ft. Up to 2 kids 12 and under ride free with each paying adult.

Mammoth Snowmobile Adventures is located adjacent to Mammoth's Main Lodge and is the only snowmobile outfit operated by Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. We recommend using public transportation and taking the Red Line to Main Lodge. Parking is available for Snowmobile Adventure customers behind the Yodler Restaurant & Bar.


Hours of Operation

During the operating season, three tours are offered each day at 8:15 AM, 10:15 AM, and 1:15 PM. The first 45 minutes include helmet fitting, safety briefing, and liability forms.

ARE HELMETS INCLUDED with tours?

Yes, helmets are included. They are open face. Guests may bring their own helmets as long as they are DOT certified, appropriate for snowmobile use (full face) and approved by the Snowmobile Adventures staff.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Snow-specific outerwear with layers underneath. Sorel style boots are recommended along with warm, waterproof winter gloves. Wear protective eyewear, goggles are encouraged. Rental clothing is not available at this time.

WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS?

Minimum age for a tour passenger is 5 years old and at least 42" tall. Minimum age to drive a snowmobile is 16 years old with a driver's license and a parent or guardian present.

WHAT TYPE OF INSURANCE IS PROVIDED?

Guided tours include $800 deductible insurance. Purchase of additional insurance ($15 per rental) is recommended, that will bring the deductible down to $400.

ARE RESERVATIONS REQUIRED?

Reservations are encouraged. Walk-ins are welcome, based on availability. Dates of operation are weather and conditions permitting and are subject to change.


CAN TOURS GET CANCELED due to WEATHER?

Our team works incredibly hard to ensure tours can go out safely. However if your snowmobile tour gets canceled due to extreme conditions, someone from our team will contact you. Please plan on showing up on time for your reserved tour unless contacted.

Save 10% on Snowmobile Adventure Guided Tours when you reserve 14+ days in advance. Advance purchase discounts are subject to change and the following blackout dates apply:

  • December 16, 2023–January 6, 2024
  • January 13–14, 2024
  • February 17–18, 2024
