Weddings FAQ

When is the deposit due and how much is it?

The initial deposit is $2000 due at the time of contract signing.

How can I schedule an appointment to see the wedding venues in person?

A wedding venue tour is complimentary. Please contact the catering department to schedule your tour.

How do I reserve a wedding venue and date?

Your catering sales manager will help you to determine if your preferred wedding venue is available on the date that you are interested in. When a date and venue are decided, a hold will be placed on the date and venue of choice and your catering sales manager will draft and send you a contract. Once reviewed, you will sign your contract and send it back with your first deposit. When you receive your countersigned contract, your wedding date and venue are official.

When do I need to choose a wedding menu?

The first step is selecting your wedding date and wedding venue. Your wedding menu selection can take place after that, and does not have to be finalized until 30 days prior to your wedding date.

When do you need our tentative and final guest count?

Your tentative guest count is due upon contract signing. But, of course, numbers are expected to fluctuate, so the final count is due 30 days before your wedding.

Do you have group lodging rates for Mammoth hotels?

A group rate will be set for your guests at the Village Lodge, Juniper Springs Resort or Mammoth Mountain Inn. Your guests can make their own reservation by calling 800.MAMMOTH. A "how to" will be provided along with your signed contract. These rooms are not guaranteed, and are booked out of general availability. There is a minimum of 10 room nights that will need to be reserved and they are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Can you give us suggestions for florists, bakeries, DJs and ministers for the area?

Of course! We have a list of suggested vendors that will be sent to you once we receive your signed contract and deposit.

What is the 20% service charge and how does it differ from a tip?

The 20% service charge covers the service provided by the banquet staff during your wedding. This fee is an industry standard and is placed on all catered functions. It does not cover additional gratuity for your vendors or wedding planner, which is at your discretion and not required.

Can we make special wedding menu requests and what is the process?

Specialty wedding menus, such as vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, can be arranged by contacting your catering sales manager.

Can we do a wedding menu tasting?

Yes. We have tasting gala events twice a year where you can taste different wedding menu options, meet local vendors, see the wedding venues and get started on planning your wedding. If you can’t make one of these events, please consult your catering sales manager.

What are the travel options for my guests to get to Mammoth?

There are several options to get to Mammoth depending on the season and where you are located. We are an easy drive from Southern California and Reno/Tahoe all year long, and have seasonal flight service to Mammoth Yosemite Airport (MMH) and Eastern Sierra Regional Airport (BIH) in Bishop, CA. In-town transportation options include free public transportation on Eastern Sierra Transit Authority and local taxis. Charter buses and other transportation options are also available.
