Tip of the Week

Tip of the Week

January 14–20  |  Make a Plan

Find Terrain That Suits Your Ability: Accidents can occur when skiers and riders find themselves on terrain out of their ability level. Before you head down the mountain, plan out your route using a trail map or the Mammoth mobile app.

Deep Snow Safety: It's extremely important to keep SIS (Snow Immersion Suffocation) safety at top of mind during storms and on powder days. Please ski/ride with a partner and be aware of tree wells and other potential SIS locations.

Staying Safe is Fun

Between #MammothBeanie drops, hanging out with our ski patrol team, helmet decorating, and more there are plenty of ways to learn all about safety throughout the month.  Check out the details below for when and where the fun goes down.

NSAA Poster Contest

January 14–Feb 1
Enter the NSAA Safety Poster contest. Color your own poster during Helmet Decorating, Woolly's Saturday Parade, or download your own.  Entries can be dropped off at the host office at Main Lodge for submission in the national contest.

Helmet Decorating

January 19–20, 26  | 11AM–1PM

Jazz up your helmet before hitting the slopes. Our friendly hosts will have stations at Main Lodge in the Mountainside Conference Center or at Canyon Lodge on the 4th floor.

Woolly’s Saturday Parade

Saturday, January 19 & 26  |  3:45–4:30PM
After a day on the slopes join Woolly and his Ski and Snowboard School friends for dancing, face painting and a parade through The Village. Woolly will be sporting his Safety Team vest, you can pick up and color your NSAA poster here and we'll be handing out Woolly safety stickers.

Sweep with Patrol

January 26  |  4PM
What’s a sweep? It’s our version of tucking Mammoth in and wishing her a goodnight. Take the last run of the day with members of our Patrol Team, as they “sweep” the Mountain to make sure no one is left behind, injured or lost. Meet at the top of Facelift Express (Chair 3) to sweep Main Lodge or High-Five Express (Chairs 5) to sweep to Canyon Lodge.
