Safety Awareness Starts Early
Mammoth Mountain’s Junior Ski Patrol program is a fun way to foster on-hill safety awareness and to introduce young ones to the duties of a Ski Patroller. The program is open to kids 7–12 and takes place 4x during the winter season at the monthly the Ikon Pass Early Up events, January–April.
Participants meet at the Main Lodge Ski Patrol Room at 9:30AM and begin their day of duty with an overview of what patrol does on a daily basis, as well as learn basic safety and on-hill awareness.
After the 2-hour session, each participate receives a report card that lists 5 safety tasks that they must complete to receive their official Mammoth Mountain Junior Ski Patrol official pin. The card can be presented to the Main Lodge or Canyon Lodge Ski Patrol Room and each child will receive a pin from a Mammoth Mountain Ski Patrol during a special pinning ceremony.
