The U.S. Freeski & Snowboard Grand Prix comes to Mammoth with high energy contests, a packed vendor village and the best athletes in the game!


U.S. Grand Prix | February 1-4, 2017

Get front row seats to this nationally televised contest and watch the top male and female athletes go big in halfpipe and slopestyle events. Not only is this a FIS World Cup, but also the first qualifying event for athletes on the road to PyeongChang for the 2018 Olympics. The best of the best skiers and snowboarders will compete in Unbound's Main Park and 22' halfpipe for a shot at $400k in prize money.

Keep an eye out for runs from Mammoth Team Athletes Kelly Clark, Chloe Kim, Greg Bretz, Brandon Davis, Judd Henkes, Brock Crouch, Maddie Mastro and more!

Vendor Village | February 3–4, 2017

Check out the vendor village located slopeside between Chairs 1 and 6 at Main Lodge. Pick up cool swag, win prizes, share your #MammothStories on Instagram or Facebook and maybe meet an athlete or two. The vendor village will be open Friday & Saturday from 9am to 4pm featuring top brands.

Athlete Autograph Signing & Hangout | February 4

Stop by Mammoth Sports in The Village from 4–5:30PM to meet some U.S. Freeski and Snowboard Team athletes, grab a photo and an autograph.

After Party | February 4, 2017

Celebrate with the official after party of the U.S. Grand Prix at 53 Kitchen & Cocktails.  Door open at 7:30PM with DJ SC!ENCE spinning and beer specials from Lagunitas Brewing Company.

Event FAQ

What is the U.S. Grand Prix Event?
The U.S. Grand Prix is a top tier snowboarding and freeskiing event featuring both halfpipe and slopestyle competitions. 

How good is the view to watch?
Watch the action from the Main Lodge sundeck, grab a spot at the base of the Super Duper Pipe or along the fence line in Main Park for up-close and personal viewing. Get as close to the action as possible - there will be snow-stairs cut into the halfpipe wall to allow for easy access. 

When and where is everything happening?
The event will take place at Main Lodge with contests in Main Park below the chair line of Thunderbound Express (Chair 6). The vendor village will be at the base of the competition venue, right off the Main Lodge sundeck between Broadway Express (chair 1) and Thunderbound Express (Chair 6). The schedule of events is posted above. 

Is there an event afterparty?
Yes. Party details will be announced at a later date.

Where should I stay?
Mammoth offers slopeside accommodations at the Mammoth Mountain Inn - the closest lodging to the action. Check out the other Mammoth Lodging Collection options or call 800.MAMMOTH.

What bus should I take?
The Red Line from The Village will get you to Main Lodge. Stop #18 is next to The Village parking lot, across from Sushi Rei.

Where can I park?
Parking is available at Main Lodge, with shuttle access to and from vehicles, or pay $25 for preferred parking.

Will any trails be closed during the event?
Yes, Main Park and the 22' halfpipe will be closed to public skiing and riding access for the U.S. Grand Prix and U.S. Revolution Tour.  Forest Trail Park, South Park, Wonderland and all Playgrounds will remain open, offering a wide range of terrain features daily.
