Easily Get to the Mountain & Around Town

After you arrive in Mammoth, leave your car parked and get up to the mountain easily thanks to the Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA). This convenient bus service offers complimentary transportation all around the town of Mammoth Lakes, including each of our mountain base lodges.

Year-Round Routes

Whatever time of year you visit Mammoth Lakes you can rely on our public transportation system to get you where you need. ESTA offers a daily bus schedule and on demand dial-a-ride service year-round.

Purple Line

The Town of Mammoth Lakes provides free year-round bus service throughout Mammoth Lakes. Purple Line goes from Vons (Supermarket) to the Village, stopping at the Mammoth Hospital, RV Park, and Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center from 7AM–6PM.

Dial-a-Ride

This door-to-door route operates year-round for the general public. Rides offered Monday-Friday: 8AM-5PM. Cost is $2.40-4.20 (depends on zone).

Winter Routes

When weather is dicey and parking is limited, taking the transit system is the way to go. From buses to get you to all of our base lodges and night time trolleys so you can après with ease in town, we have you covered.

To Main Lodge – Red Line Route

The Red Line operates every 20 minutes, 7 days per week from 7:00AM until 5:30PM. The Red Line provides service throughout town via Old Mammoth Road and Main Street traveling between Snowcreek Athletic Club and Mammoth Mountain Main Lodge.

To Canyon Lodge and The Village – Blue Line Route

Offers service between The Village at Mammoth and Canyon Lodge.

To Juniper Springs Resort, Eagle Lodge & The Village – Yellow Line Route

Provides service between Juniper Springs Resort/Eagle Lodge and The Village every 20 minutes.

To Juniper Springs Resort, Eagle Lodge & Downtown – Green Line Route

Offers service between Juniper Springs Resort/Eagle Lodge and the downtown area at the intersection of Meridian and Old Mammoth Road (Vons).

To Tamarack Lodge and Cross-Country Ski Center – Orange Line Route

November 26–29, 2020

Departs The Village to Tamarack Lodge from 8AM–5PM at :00 and :30. Departs Tamarack Lodge to The Village from 8:15AM–5:15PM at :15 and :45. 

Regular Service Starts December 13

Offers service between The Village at Mammoth and Tamarack Lodge and Cross-Country Ski Center. Departs The Village starting at 8:00AM, with the last departure from Tamarack Lodge at 5:15PM. Departs Tamarack Lodge every 30 minutes at :15 and :45 past the hour.

To Mammoth Mountain Inn and The Village – Pink Line Route

Offers service between Mammoth Mountain Inn and The Village. Departs The Village starting at 6PM at :00 and :30 from stop 90 on Canyon Boulevard and stop 18 on Minaret Rd. Departs from Mammoth Mountain Inn at :15 and :45, with the last bus uphill at 10PM.

Winter Night Trolley

The free wintertime Night Trolley operates every 20 minutes from 5:40pm until 2:00am seven nights per week (every 30-minutes after midnight Sunday through Thursday).

Summer Routes

Summer Routes

With so much to see and do in Mammoth during the summer months, it's important you get to where you need with ease. Hop on the Mammoth Bike Park Shuttle to get to Main Lodge, or take the Trolley up to the Lakes Basin for a day on the lake or adventure out on a hike.

Bike Park Shuttle

Offers free transportation service between The Village and Main Lodge on a space-available basis, leaving The Village from stop #90 (on Canyon Blvd.) on the quarter from 9AM–5:30PM. Priority is given to Bike Park riders and a valid bike park ticket is required to transport a bicycle.

Town Trolley

The Town Trolley operates approximately every 30 minutes, stopping at locations including Snow Creek Athletic Club, Juniper Springs Resort, Vons, The Village, and Canyon Lodge.

Lakes Basin Trolley

This route provides service from The Village to the Lakes Basin area, including Tamarack Lodge. The trolley also pulls a bike trailer to transport you and your bike uphill to enjoy the downhill ride on the stunning Lakes Basin Bike Trail.

Reds Meadow/Devils Postpile Shuttle

Reds Meadow Shuttle has been canceled for the 2020 summer season.
