From together time on and off the slopes, to family-friendly restaurants and free events, our mountain playground is the perfect spot for family fun.

Kids 4 & Under Ski Free

Kids 4 & Under Ski Free

Youngsters get complimentary access to Mammoth's slopes all season long. All little skiers/riders need a valid ticket or pass to load the chairlifts and gondola. Proof of age is required for pick up and a $25 processing fee will apply.

Ski & Snowboard Lessons for Ages 3+

Lessons are a great way for kids of all ages and abilities to develop skills on the hill for a lifetime of fun on the slopes. One (1) hour private lessons are available for children ages 3-6, and three (3) hour lessons are available for children ages five and over.

There’s lots of fun to be found around each of our base lodges. Check out the Adventure Zones that are hidden in the woods, and you might just catch Woolly, Huck or Goldie cruising down beside you. Or to build more confidence on freestyle terrain, head for the nearest Fun Zone – an enhanced-learning area featuring gentle rollers and small spines that are perfect for beginners of all ages.

Kids and kids at heart will love zooming down the lanes in a high-speed snow tube. Even the littlest ones can join in all the fun in the snow play area.

Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing

Explore the Mammoth Lakes Basin on cross-country skis or snowshoes for some scenic family adventures across 19+ miles (30+ kilometers) of secluded, groomed world-class trails. Kids 12 and under can get a full-day cross-country ski ticket for just $5.

Scenic Gondola Rides

Take a scenic ride up Mammoth Mountain on the Panorama Gondola to explore all the fun at 11,053 ft. Up to 2 kids (ages 12 and under) ride free with each paying adult. Free tickets can be obtained from any ticket window.

Eleven53 Interpretive Center

Learn about the Sierra and surrounding regions with exhibits for all ages and a full time docent to answer your questions and teach you even more. Admission is free with a Scenic Gondola Ride ticket, lift ticket, or Ikon Pass.
