Lifts & Gondolas

Lifts & Gondolas

  • Masks are required indoors, in lift lines and on lifts and gondolas.  
  • Perforated, ventilated, and thin, single-layer neck gaiter style face coverings will not be allowed. Guests are asked to use additional or alternative masks before entering facilities, queues, or other areas where masks are required. 
  • Lifts and gondolas will not be loaded to full capacity. Guests can opt to ride only with people within their party. Willing parties will be allowed to ride together.  
  • Distancing in lift lines occurs naturally due to the length of ski and snowboarding equipment, but guests should be conscious of, and maintain appropriate physical distancing with guests outside your travel group. 
  • Gondola cabins windows will be open at all times. Guests must wear face coverings at all times while on lifts and in gondola cabins, and guests must maximize physical space between each other.  
  • Lift operations staff will wear face coverings and use appropriate COVID-19 sanitation and mitigation measures while working. Please follow staff instructions.

Mask Violation Policy

Mask Violation Policy

In an effort to keep all guests and employees safe during the current COVID-19 pandemic we have implemented a strict mask violation policy with clear expectations and policies. Masks or face coverings must be a minimum of two layers.

Perforated, ventilated, and thin, single-layer neck gaiter style face coverings will not be allowed.

First documented warning:

  • You will receive a verbal education on our mask policy and are encouraged to "Stay Safe to Stay Open." This is your only warning and will be documented in your pass or ticket profile.
  • If you fail to comply with our mask policy the employee on site has the authority to revoke your riding privileges.

Second documented warning:

  • Repeat offenders or those who offer resistance to education will have their riding privileges suspended.
  • Ikon Pass holders will have their pass suspended for a minimum of 7 days. 
  • Multi day ticket holders will receive a minimum 24-hour suspension.
  • Single day ticket holders will have their ticket revoked.

Third documented warning:

  • Ikon Pass holders will have their pass suspended for the remainder of the season.
  • Single and multi-day ticket holders will lose their riding privileges for the remainder of the season.

These policies have been implemented for the safety of all those enjoying the resort and are an important part of our pledge to "Stay Safe to Stay Open."

  • Tickets will be sold via advance purchase only through MammothMountain.com, the Mammoth Mobile App, and through 800.MAMMOTH. Availability may be limited to manage on-mountain capacity. 
  • Walk-up lift tickets will not be available.  
  • Starting December 1, 2020, tickets sold at least 14 days in advance will be mailed to reduce the need for in-person pick up in lodges.

  • Hand washing and sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the resort. 
  • We are disinfecting high-touch points (railings, bathrooms, door handles, tables, chairs, etc.) and high-trafficked areas (gondolas, ticket windows, elevators, doors, guest rooms, etc.) throughout the destination more frequently. 
  • Our cleaning staff has implemented new protocols and is utilizing cleaning products effective against viruses, bacteria and other airborne or blood borne pathogens in key areas. 
  • Credit cards and other forms of contactless payment is preferred.  
  • We ask that just one person per reservation picks up each reservation to help reduce numbers in ticket lines and lobbies. 
  • Ticket counters will be staffed to address products and issues that MammothMountain.com or 800.MAMMOTH cannot.   
  • Staff will wear masks and follow appropriate guidelines including distancing and frequent sanitation.

Rentals

Rentals

  • Daily reservations and occupancy will be closely managed for each Mammoth Mountain rental shop.  Guests may be asked to queue outdoors while waiting to enter. Please arrive prepared.  
  • Reservations are very strongly encouraged to help manage occupancy and reduce in-person transactions. Walk-up rentals will be accommodated only if availability and capacity allow, and only after 10AM. 
  • In order to better manage occupancy, designated pick-up times for reservation holders are 8–10AM and 1–3PM at the location indicated on your reservation. 
  • Day-use lockers will be limited. Please plan accordingly.
  • Rental equipment will be sanitized after each use using disinfectant.  
  • Rental shops will be reconfigured to accommodate individuals or family groups in a socially distant manner 
  • After boot fitting, skis and snowboards will be delivered to a designated on-snow location to minimize time indoors. Equipment returns and overnight storage will also be located at alternate locations.   
  • In smaller locations, appointments will be scheduled for fittings.

  • Currently, only private lessons are available, ensuring only people within your travel group are placed together.  
  • All guests must complete a health screening prior to the start of their lesson. 
  • Instructors will follow social distancing practices as much as possible, utilizing teaching aides and strategies to promote independence. While every effort will be made to maintain a 6ft. distance, situations may arise that require less.
  • Lesson durations and times have been adjusted to minimize the demand for indoor breaks. Indoor spaces are not available during a lesson. Please arrive prepared for the duration of your lesson.

Employees

  • Perforated, ventilated, and thin, single-layer neck gaiter style face coverings will not be allowed.
  • All employees will be provided approved PPE including face coverings which will be worn at all times when indoors. 
  • Additional employee training will be conducted to implement increased health standards. 
  • Employee COVID-19 symptom checks and testing will be implemented prior to each shift. 
  • Employees will immediately report all presumed cases of COVID-19 on property to local health authorities. 
  • All shared equipment will be sanitized throughout employee shifts and anytime the equipment is transferred to a new employee. This includes phones, radios, computers and other communication devices, payment terminals, kitchen implements, engineering tools, safety buttons, cleaning equipment, keys, vehicles, time clocks and all other direct contact items used throughout the resort.  
  • Staggered starts, careful scheduling, and increased and dispersed employee facilities will promote distancing among employees at the start and end of shifts.  
  • Employees showing symptoms of illness will be asked to quarantine and contact tracing will be enacted until negative tests are produced for all those affected.  
  • Employee housing facilities will enforce a zero-tolerance no-guest policy.
