CHLOE KIM, Switch Method
Much has been said of Chloe Kim and her incredible performance at this year’s X Games. In case you haven’t heard; she won a gold medal in the women’s halfpipe event after taking a brutal slam in training. And brutal is an understatement, Chloe decked out and slammed her face into the snow, chipping a tooth and cutting her face up in the process. This was a fall that would’ve put 99% of professional athletes on the IR. What blew my mind was Chloe’s ability to deal with the pressure that was placed on her leading up to the event. She was the face of this year’s ESPN marketing campaign, filmed bios galore and was “supposed” to take the top spot at the biggest, most competitive contest of the year. Nothing fazed her, and the best part was she had a blast doing it; her smiles and laughter were a breath of youthful humility and enthusiasm you don’t witness often at the top levels of sport.
Last weekend Chloe followed up her win with a 2nd place at the Burton European Open. Now she's back in Mammoth riding her home pipe in this weekend's Sprint US Grand Prix of Snowboarding. Come out and catch the best athletes in the world riding the best park and pipe in the world. Event Details Here
