Suggested Activities for Families:
Day 1 - Head to the Adventure
Center at Mammoth Mountain. With a 2-hour bike rental you can get
a taste of the 100-mile trail system at Mammoth
Mountain Bike Park. Try Trail Home for a top-to-bottom ride for
all levels. After burgers and sweet potato fries at the Yodler,
choose from a private rock climbing lesson (all ages) or a Climb & Zip combo
(ages 13 and under). If the kids aren't tired after that, a swim
in the hotel pool will work up those appetites for a pizza dinner
at one of Mammoth Lakes' numerous
pizzerias.
Day 2 - Start the day on the putting green at Sierra Star Golf Course, where rental clubs are available in all sizes. Take a Scenic Gondola Ride to the Top of the Sierra Interpretive Center & Cafe, where you can see Mammoth and beyond in every direction. At the top you can grab lunch and take a complimentary Naturalist Tour (Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 11am and 1pm). Spend the evening at the Village at Mammoth, where entertainment could include the petting zoo, trampoline, live music and ice cream at Ben & Jerry's. Thursday nights in summer "Movies Under the Stars" is open to everyone - bring your lawn chairs and blankets and watch a PG film on the big screen.
Day 3 - See the sights on a day trip to Devils Postpile National Monument or Yosemite National Park.
