Conditions Report - Dec 2, 2015
Today, Mammoth has 14 lifts spinning with access to 78 open trails. Add that to the 3 parks that are ready to shred, and there’s tons to do on the hill this week. With that much open terrain, it can be hard to know where the best places to ski and ride are, so we’re here to help you figure it out with the first conditions report of the season.
This conditions report is about a side of the mountain that deserves more love. The Backside of Mammoth Mountain provides some of the best tree runs on the hill, endless lines to discover, and Mammoth’s longest trail, Road Runner, which is three miles of switchback, thigh-burning fun. Road Runner is groomed daily, and is a perfect top to bottom run for intermediate skiers and riders. Venture off of Road Runner to ski some bumps, ride through trees, and find patches of untouched pow.
Before you jet off into the backside paradise, keep in mind that early season conditions do still exist. Ski and ride with caution, and stay on marked trails.
