Most winter employment runs about 150 days, from early November until the end of April, and even longer on heavy snow years!

Winter Seasonal

Food & Beverage

Assists guests in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee beverages and whole bean sales. More

Provides quality beverages and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.

Assists in opening and closing the store. Maintains visual and cleanliness guidelines for the store. Assists in ordering, stocking and inventory upkeep. Shifts range from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm.

Requirements

Previous guest service experience required. Sales and cash handling experience preferred. Barista experience preferred, not required.

Hotel Operations

Meets and greets guest as they arrive at the resort. Opens car doors and welcomes guests to the hotel. More

Offers the guests and assists with valet services and assists with the guests with luggage. Removes luggage from cars and place on bell carts. Responsible for parking cars utilizing the valet service.

Provides information about rooms, hotel, ski area and local area. Assists valet parkers. Provide guests with ski valet services. Assist the front desk with service delievery of newspapers, packages, and towels. Offers aditional and concierge services. Sells hotel by offering property shows and answering general enquiries.

Completes daily checklist to maintain the overall appearance of the hotel and guest experience; which includes but is not exclusive to snow shoveling, trash removal and light cleaning. Performs related services as requestd by Front Desk and Management. Cross training in alternative departments and properties included.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years guest service, public relations or sales experience. Hotel or Resort experience preferred. Professional demeanor, attitude and appearance. Strong work ethic. Ability to effectively communicate to guests, employees & management.

Registers guests into and out of hotel. Assists guests in making, changing and canceling reservations. More

Computes bills, collects payments and resolves billing disputes. Deposits guests valuables in hotel safety deposit boxes. Performs related services as requested by Front Desk and Management. Uses empowerment levels to satisfy guest experience. Cross training in alternative departments and properties provided.

High School Diploma or equivalent. Computer experience and familiarity required. Adaptible to learning new computer systems. Hospitality training preferred.

Responsible for organization of the supply closet, monthly inventory, and creating product orders.

This is a Safety Sensitive position subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug regulations. Ideal candidate will have prior experience with MMSA bus driving. Must have superior guest service skills.

Outside Operations

Supports the daily operations of the school at the direction of supervisors.  More

Assists with lesson registration and rental process.  Prepares and serves lunches.  Assists in supervising children during breaks.  Set up and tear down o ski school area and may operate surface lifts.

Requirements

We are looking for outgoing, friendly people interested in working with children. 

These will be daytime schedules, and can be tailored to any day of the week, up to a full 40 hour week.

Previous experience working with children such as babysitting preferred.

Teaches Ski & Snowboarding skills. More

A Ski & Snowboard School Supervisor has the ability and experience to manage instructors on a daily and season long basis. Additionally these people can collaborate between different departments to quickly and seamlessly resolve guest and employee issues.

Requirements

The ability to motivate and inspire employees to meet or exceed the standards and expectations of MMSA cannot be overstated.

Minimum qualifications of current Level 3 PSIA/AASI or International equivalent and five (400 hour) seasons as a full time instructor. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Computer literacy (MS office, SIRIUS ware), strong written and verbal skills are essential.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Mammoth Mountain Ski Patroller for the Winter of 2014-15.   Please consider the following information prior to applying for this position.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Advanced level of Alpine Skiing (sorry no Telemark Skiing or Snowboarding), training in slope-specific first aid, hill safety, Avalanche control and Mammoth Mt. Operations.

Requirements

Patrol candidates must have current American Red Cross Emergency Response, EMT-1 or Outdoor Emergency Care (NSP) and current certification for CPR (Professional), including:

 (1) Rescuer adult, infant & child;  
 (2) Rescuer CPR.

You must be at least twenty-one years of age and have advanced alpine skiing ability.  Ski Patrollers are hired from this group.  Employment will be contingent on skiing ability.

Sets up and tears down timing equipment for a variety of race events, runs the equipment and times the actual events. More

Is responsible for the accuracy and precision of all timing data.

Produces timing reports and results for all USSA/FIS sanctioned events Maintains and fixes all types timing equipment and the wiring system.

Assists in all other aspects of event/race production as needed, setting up gates, banners,  removes any obstacles during the event. Tears down gates, fencing, signage etc. as required at the close of the day or the end of race events.

On the job training and supervision by a very experienced timing technician will be provided and is part of the job.

High school graduate or equivalent experience.  Computer literate, highly organized, accurate, precision and a strong math background a must.

Ability to effectively communicate with race officials, coaching staff and racers.

Knowledge of Split Second Timing programs, race procedures and regulations and experience in this field. Good skiing or snowboarding skills required.

Ability to do general repairs on timing equipment and an electronics background strongly desirable.

Snowmobile experience preferred. USSA officials license.

Answers all inquiries regarding Mammoth Mountain's products and services, and provides one-stop shopping for all vacation needs including lodging, air and all winter and summer activities. More

Mammoth Vacations is a multi channel Contact Center with the Vacation Specialist being the first line of contact for Mammoth's guests. The Vacation Specialist  Agents may be involved with outbound sales campaigns and other special projects as required.

Inquiries and reservations are made via telephone, email or online bookings. Our typical work week is four, 10-hour days with 3 days off. Entry-level seasonal position, part of the Creative Team at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. More

Provides technical and creative support to the development of graphic art and visual materials for promotions, advertisements and in-resort marketing materials for a variety of media outlets including print, email and web channels.

Primary function will be to support the Graphic Designer with design/layout and pre-production work using the latest Adobe CC software as well as collaborate on new ideas for incoming jobs. Secondary function will be to support both the Graphic Designer and Brand Photographer with organizing assets, photo library, and support in all areas of production when needed.

This position requires an individual who is highly detail oriented.

Mammoth Mountain Hosts are outgoing, friendly people who have a strong desire to help others and truly love Mammoth Mountain. Lodge Hosts greet guests at all lodge parking lots and entrances to provide directional and general assistance. New this year is working as Host Docents at the Eleven53 Interpretive Center. 
 
Applicants must be knowledgeable of Mammoth Mountain, its businesses and the surrounding community. You must have exemplary people and communication skills. Your first language should be English. These jobs are typically seasonal part time, minimum wage positions, beginning around Thanksgiving weekend and continuing through April. Mandatory training is scheduled for November 22 and 23. Lodge Hosts typically work 6 to 8 shifts per month. Shift times vary from 2 to 6 hours, dependent on the needs of the Host program and your availability.

Assists Retail Manager in all aspects of retail store operations. More

Duties include developing and administering department policies and procedures, balancing the daily registers, and recording daily sales.

Also responsible for monitoring employee performance, preparing work and break schedules, handling proper procedures for sale transactions, returns, exchanges, holds, layaways and discounts.
 
Assists the Manager in the selection of merchandise for future buys. Develops training clinics for the staff on new merchandise; assist staff as well as guests with answering questions. Assists in the take down and set up of the shop depending on the season. Participates in ongoing classes on Mammoth standards.

Requirements

High School graduate. Minimum of five years of retail sales experience, three years of retail management experience.

Mountain sports hard goods and soft goods background preferred.

As a member of our Sales and Service team, you will be required to make guest satisfaction a priority on the selling floor. Helping guests find the right product for their needs will be one measure of your success.

Daily duties include, but are not limited to, assisting multiple guests simultaneously, over long periods of time, keeping the shop stocked and organized, maintaining a clean shop and work area and cashiering.

Typical schedules are daytime hours, with particular emphasis on week ends.

Staff working at Mammoth Childcare are responsible for providing plenty of stimulating activities such as art, dramatic play, sensory activities, sledding, gondola rides and even a combo program where children participate in a morning ski lesson before settling in to the childcare facility for the afternoon.   If babies are your thing, we have age appropriate, high quality infant nurseries at both locations.
