Mammoth Mountain offers a variety of fun, seasonal jobs with the benefit of a season pass to ski all winter!  

Most winter employment runs about 150 days, from early November until the end of April, and even longer on heavy snow years!

Winter Seasonal

Food & Beverage

We currently seek several kitchen experts, and will assign them to various facilities based upon experience and our specific needs. More

Areas of specialty and our needs include Line Cook, Prep Cook, and various Station Cook opportunities.

Some of these openings include a preference for individuals with culinary experience and education.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years training and/or experience cooking in a restaurant kitchen. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees.

Also responsible for general cleaning and replenishing store inventories as needed. Runs cash register and maintains inventories.

Hotel Operations

Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests. Dispatches Lodge Staff such as Housekeepers and Maintenance Service employees in response to guests' requests. More

Makes, changes and cancels reservations. Serves as Lodge telephone operator.

Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services as well as other Mammoth California services. Computes bill, collects payment, and checks guests out of the hotel. Deposits guests' valuables in hotel safe or safe deposit box. We will train the successful candidate in various aspects of Night Audit functions.

Schedules vary, opportunity for full-time work, emphasis on week-ends.

Requirements

High school graduate with general business office training or equivalent experience.

Basic computer skills required. Minimum of one year experience in public or guest relations service.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests.

Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Drives guests to and from town and airport, sometimes other destinations near the resort and town. More

Some light vehicle maintenance. Variable schedule, some evening and night shifts. Part-time work.

Must have a current California Class B license.

NOTE: we have openings at both The Village AND the Mammoth Mountain Inn, with varying schedules, including Part-time work.
 

Requirements

Guest service and previous experience preferred. Must have no more than 2 points on a current California Driver's license.  Must have a current California Class B license.

This is a Safety Sensitive position subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug regulations. Ideal candidate will have prior experience with MMSA bus driving. Must have superior guest service skills.

High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years guest service or public relations experience. Hotel or Resort experience preferred. Professional demeanor, attitude & appearance.

Strong work ethic. Ability to effectively communicate to guests, employees & management. Ability to perform under pressure. Willing to carry out instructions & Hotel policies.

Outside Operations

At June Mountain, sister resort to Mammoth, our season typically runs from around 20-December through mid-April, depending upon snow conditions.

If you like being part of a small, closely-knit team, providing service to Families in a very unique and special setting, this Team might be your best choice!

Requirements

Oversees and operates radio-frequency electonic scanning equipment for lift tickets and lift passes. Guest service experience required. This is an outside job working in a variety of elements.

Supports the daily operations of the school at the direction of supervisors.  More

Assists with lesson registration and rental process.  Prepares and serves lunches.  Assists in supervising children during breaks.  Set up and tear down o ski school area and may operate surface lifts.

Requirements

We are looking for outgoing, friendly people interested in working with children. 

These will be daytime schedules, and can be tailored to any day of the week, up to a full 40 hour week.

Previous experience working with children such as babysitting preferred.

Teaches Ski & Snowboarding skills. More

Apprentice Instructors are new to the business, often with some teaching experience, up to Level 1 PSIA or AASI certified.

Apprentice Instructors assist in the support functions of the school and mountain operations (rentals, ticket sales, meeting area set-up, lift operations and guest greeting and direction).

They teach skiing to the general public with an emphasis on children in our lesson age group of 3-4 yrs. and 5-12 yrs. The Apprentice Instructor performs a variety of all of the above roles often on the same day. Must be flexible and able to work in variable weather conditions.

 

Requirements

A passion for working with small Children in a winter environment is a prerequisite for this position. Guest service experience required.

Basic skiing skills are required. Previous experience as a day care worker or as a camp counselor is an advantage. Empathy for and an ability to teach children new skills in an unfamiliar environment is more important than your personal skiing ability. On the job training is provided.

Assists the Race Dept. Office Manager with USSA/FIS sanctioned events race administration duties. More

Assists the Administration Manger of the Mammoth Mountain Ski & Snowboard Team with administrative team tasks.

Handles daily cash and credit card transaction.  Provides information regarding Race Department events and programs as well as Ski & Snowboard Team related activities.

Coordinates Masters Team administration. Maintains the Race Department web page and social media outlets. Performs miscellaneous and routine office duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent experience.  Minimum of two years general office experience with public relations and cash handling.

Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software required. Previous ski racing knowledge desirable.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Mammoth Mountain Ski Patroller for the Winter of 2014-15.   Please consider the following information prior to applying for this position.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Advanced level of Alpine Skiing (sorry no Telemark Skiing or Snowboarding), training in slope-specific first aid, hill safety, Avalanche control and Mammoth Mt. Operations.

Requirements

Patrol candidates must have current American Red Cross Emergency Response, EMT-1 or Outdoor Emergency Care (NSP) and current certification for CPR (Professional), including:

 (1) Rescuer adult, infant & child;  
 (2) Rescuer CPR.

You must be at least twenty-one years of age and have advanced alpine skiing ability.  Ski Patrollers are hired from this group.  Employment will be contingent on skiing ability.

Resort Services

Photographs our guests on Mammoth Mountain, at events and any other requested locations. More

Lots of variety, from portraits to races, kids ski school, and private shoots!  Most of the time, this will be outdoors, during daylight hours.

Our primary function is to take and sell photos of guests.  No experience with a camera? <strong> No problem! </strong>  With a great attitue, we'll teach you!

What we need from YOU is passion, enthusiasm, and a friendly smile. Your job will be to help our Guests, particularly Families, in capturing lasting memories of fun times here at Mammoth!

NOTE: pay is on a graduated scale, with a base component and potential for increased earnings beyond that level, by way of commission and BONUSES.

It's a lot of fun,  and pretty easy work,  too --- with many returning Customers just asking for your help in catching "this year's Family Picture at Mammoth".

Creates and delivers an extraordinary equipment rental experience for our Guests in a fast-paced and FUN environment. More

Assists guests with all aspects of rental process and ski check operation.

Rental functions will include: providing information, selling all rental, sport school and ticket products, taking deposits, up-selling all items, issuing rental equipment, fitting boots and bindings. Performing simple maintenance on rental equipment.

Set up/take down and manning of the outside ski check operation. Maintain and improve guest experience through clean up of all ski area properties.

Responsible for protecting Company assets and ensuring a safe environment for our employees and guests. More

Ski and snowboard while advancing your career in Child Development! Mammoth Childcare is now seeking energetic, responsible and nurturing teachers for its two locations. We offer flexible schedules and the best paying entry-level job in the company for qualified individuals. Starting wage is $14.59-$15.09, depending on qualifications.

Staff working at Mammoth Childcare are responsible for providing plenty of stimulating activities such as art, dramatic play, sensory activities, sledding, gondola rides and even a combo program where children participate in a morning ski lesson before settling in to the childcare facility for the afternoon.   If babies are your thing, we have age appropriate, high quality infant nurseries at both locations.

Requirements
