Food & Beverage

We are currently seeking enthusiastic, motivated and service-oriented Chefs. More

Exceptional personalities, attitude and excellent communication skills are required. The ideal candidate will also be polished, professional, friendly, dynamic and able to multitask and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Candidates must have a MINIMUM of 5 years of experience as a Chef.

Requirements

Work duties vary based upon specific job. Superior customer service, or cooking are the principal skills for these various positions, in some cases, requiring previous experience.

June Mountain typically enjoys a season that runs from mid-December until the Easter Holiday, in the early part of April this upcoming season.

Hotel Operations

Meets and greets guest as they arrive at the resort. Opens car doors and welcomes guests to the hotel. More

Offers the guests and assists with valet services and assists with the guests with luggage. Removes luggage from cars and place on bell carts. Responsible for parking cars utilizing the valet service.

Provides information about rooms, hotel, ski area and local area. Assists valet parkers. Provide guests with ski valet services. Assist the front desk with service delievery of newspapers, packages, and towels. Offers aditional and concierge services. Sells hotel by offering property shows and answering general enquiries.

Completes daily checklist to maintain the overall appearance of the hotel and guest experience; which includes but is not exclusive to snow shoveling, trash removal and light cleaning. Performs related services as requestd by Front Desk and Management. Cross training in alternative departments and properties included.

Requirements

Registers guests into and out of hotel. Assists guests in making, changing and canceling reservations. More

Provides information regarding the hotel services and meets guest needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Completes pre-check in process. Greets and registers guests into and out of hotel. Sells other Mammoth services such as lift tickets, bike park tickets, events etc.

Hotel phone operator. Completes daily checklist to insure operational consistency. Dispatches bell persons, housekeepers, shuttle and maintenance service employees in response to guest requests and follows up. Provides information about rooms, hotel, ski area and local area.

Computes bills, collects payments and resolves billing disputes. Deposits guests valuables in hotel safety deposit boxes. Performs related services as requested by Front Desk and Management. Uses empowerment levels to satisfy guest experience. Cross training in alternative departments and properties provided.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent. Computer experience and familiarity required. Adaptible to learning new computer systems. Hospitality training preferred.

Minimum of 2 years guest service, public relations or sales experience. Hotel or Resort experience preferred. Professional demeanor, attitude and appearance. Strong work ethic. Ability to effectively communicate to guests, employees & management.

Responsible for organization of the supply closet, monthly inventory, and creating product orders.

Guest service and previous experience preferred. Must have no more than 2 points on a current California Driver's license.  Must have a current California Class B license.

This is a Safety Sensitive position subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug regulations. Ideal candidate will have prior experience with MMSA bus driving. Must have superior guest service skills.

Requirements

High School graduate. A college or university degree or diploma in hospitality management is desired. Property management and / or hotel experience preferred.

Superior communication skills required. Must be proficient with computer-based systems and software, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Familiarity with hotel-management software systems a plus. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual able to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

Familiarity with the Mammoth Lakes areas desired.

Outside Operations

Teaches Ski & Snowboarding skills. More

Apprentice Instructors are new to the business, often with some teaching experience, up to Level 1 PSIA or AASI certified.

Apprentice Instructors assist in the support functions of the school and mountain operations (rentals, ticket sales, meeting area set-up, lift operations and guest greeting and direction).

They teach skiing to the general public with an emphasis on children in our lesson age group of 3-4 yrs. and 5-12 yrs. The Apprentice Instructor performs a variety of all of the above roles often on the same day. Must be flexible and able to work in variable weather conditions.

 

Requirements

A passion for working with small Children in a winter environment is a prerequisite for this position. Guest service experience required.

Basic skiing skills are required. Previous experience as a day care worker or as a camp counselor is an advantage. Empathy for and an ability to teach children new skills in an unfamiliar environment is more important than your personal skiing ability. On the job training is provided.

Administers First Aid and assistance to the guests and employees. More

Acts as a dispatcher and recorder for the department. This is a non-skiing, indoors position.

Requirements

Performs First Aid room duties at any of the First Aid rooms. Room attendant candidates must have current American Red Cross Emergency Medical Response, EMT-1, WFR (Wilderness First Responder) or Outdoor Emergency Care (NSP) and current certification for CPR (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers). You must be at least twenty-one years of age.

Proof of current First Aid and CPR certifications are required prior to hiring on or about Thanksgiving 2014. (Please bring original cards, photo copies are not accepted).

Cards need to be valid at all times during the season (if your card will expire, you must re-certify prior to expiration.)

There are no part-time positions in this department and room attendants generally work full-time schedules, 5 days per week, including weekends and holidays.

Coaches and trains young Freeski athletes. Provides fun, dynamic and safe environment to allow athletes to learn and develop. More

Successful applicants will teach skiing and snowboarding to the general public (all ages and abilities) in group and private lessons.

Responsible for building and maintenance of any and all half pipes at Mammoth Mountain. More

Takes direction from Terrain Park Manager while collaborating with Shift Supervisor on all aspects of the nightly operation including, but not limited to: park design, compliance with rules and regulations, scheduling and training. Heavily involved in working on large scale builds such as training camps, competitions, and photo shoots.

Must have ability and desire to build and maintain new and existing half pipes of all sizes. 

Requirements

Must have a minimum of 3 years experience building half pipes. Must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a high level terrain park builder.

Must be willing to work swing and grave shifts.

Educates our guests and employees to promote the rider and skier responsibility code and safety awareness. More

Works closely with Ski Patrol and Host Department in all aspects of daily operations of the ski area. Creates a highly visible and positive presence on the hill.

Daytime work schedule, with an emphasis on busy week ends and Holidays. Work 35 to 40, full-time hours per week.

NOTE: this is a position requiring strong SKIING ability. Regretfully, for this job, we do not have any openings for individuals riding snowboards.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent experience. Must meet the skiing and snowboarding standards set forth by the Hill Safety Manager and Ski Patrol. Must possess good verbal communication skills.

Completes training provided by Hill Safety Manager and Ski Patrol. Able to lift heavy objects in a winter environment. Must also have valid and current first Responder and basic CPR certifications.

The ideal candidate will have strong skiing skills and a proven track record working in a public relations AND "safety sensitive" environment, such as Ski Patrol, Rescue, Water Safety, or similar work capacities.

Responsibilities include machine maintenance, grooming terrain park features nightly, and rebuilding features to proper proportions.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent experience. A minimum of 2 years riding at a high level and 2 to 3 years of snow cat experience.

The ideal candidate will also have experience operating snowmaking equipment. Experience cutting half pipes a plus. Must be willing to work swing shift or graveyard shift.

Sets up safety fencing for race courses and race arenas prior to the event. Moves various types of equipment into place by skiing or by snowmobile.

Controls ski run closures for race events to insure the safety of the general public and the competitors. Assists in setting up gates, banners, timing equipment and maintains courses and removes any obstacles during the event.

Tears down gates, fencing, signage etc. as required at the close of the day or the end of race events.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent experience.

Strong skiing skills required.

Ability to effectively communicate with racers, race officials, coaching staff and the ski area guest watching events.

Knowledge of race procedures and regulations and experience in this field desirable. Snowmobile experience preferred.

A Ski & Snowboard School Supervisor has the ability and experience to manage instructors on a daily and season long basis. Additionally these people can collaborate between different departments to quickly and seamlessly resolve guest and employee issues.

Requirements

The ability to motivate and inspire employees to meet or exceed the standards and expectations of MMSA cannot be overstated.

Minimum qualifications of current Level 3 PSIA/AASI or International equivalent and five (400 hour) seasons as a full time instructor. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Computer literacy (MS office, SIRIUS ware), strong written and verbal skills are essential.

Wears the Mammoth mascot Woolly uniform and tours lodges and slopes. More

One of the best jobs on the mountain is Woolly, our Ski & Snowboarding mascot.

His primary objective is to create a fun atmosphere for all guests and employees through his exemplary riding and goofy antics.

All Woolly applicants must be excellent riders or skiers, and in great physical condition. In addition, advanced snowboarding skills are a plus. Applicants are recommended to have previous experience working with children as well as experience in performing arts.

This is a 35 to 40 hour/week position from the beginning of Nov through the end of April.

PSIA/AASI Level 1 or greater, (Adaptive, Alpine, or Snowboard). 

The ability and desire to teach primarily on alpine equipment.
