(Wilson, Wyo.) - Multimedia action sports brand Teton Gravity Research (TGR) will have a one-night only premiere of its feature-length ski film, Way of Life, outdoors at the Santa Monica pier, on Friday, October 25. This event is presented by Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, which is one of the featured locations in the film. Net proceeds from the premiere will benefit TGR and Mammoth’s fundraising efforts for Movember, the global men's health charity engaging men to grow and women to support the Mo (moustache) for the 30 days of November. Through the power of the moustache, awareness and funds are raised for men’s health to combat prostate and testicular cancer.
There will be beer vendors, food trucks and a 40’ wide screen for the film. Gates will open at 6:00, with a DJ playing until the movie starts around 8:00. This event is free for all Mammoth season pass holders, as well as for registered Los Angeles area Movember participants, with tickets for everyone else available for only $10 online at santamonica.tetongravity.com. Mammoth pass holders and registered Movember participants will receive an email on how to obtain the free ticket to the event.
About the film
Shot during the winter of 2013, Way of Life takes you on a journey to the mountains with today’s top athletes. With stunning imagery created with GSS, Red Digital Cinema and the Sony Action Cam, this film explores the origins of skiing in Austria, the search for original lines in Alaska from TGR’s Fantasy Camp, and the U.S. Freeskiing Team’s quest for Olympic gold while training at Mammoth Mountain. The adventure also leads athletes to the rugged terrain of Jackson Hole and the Tetons, as well as the backcountry of British Columbia.

“Way of Life was created to tap into the global community that embraces this way of life we’re so passionate about,” says Steve Jones, TGR co-founder. “TGR has over 15 years of aerial cinematography experience, and this film, which marks the cinematic debut of the GSS system, contains the most stunning footage we’ve ever shot.”
“We really put the GSS system to use at TGR’s Fantasy Camp, which is the most cutting-edge heli outpost concept ever devised,” adds Todd Jones, TGR co-founder. “The camp gave us a home base from which to pick off first descents in Alaska’s remote Neacola Mountains, allowing TGR to continue our tradition of exploring the unknown.”
“Since TGR’s inception, we have strived to be cutting edge not only in our production, but in how we present the movie to the public,” says Steve Jones, TGR co-founder. “The Santa Monica pier is an iconic location, and we are incredibly excited about showcasing our new film in such an incredible setting. The fact that net profits are being donated to a great cause in Movember makes it that much more exciting.”
