Ski & Snowboard Team

Junior Ski Team

The Mammoth Mountain Ski Team has a long history starting with Dave McCoy who coached athletes from Lee Vining and Bishop in the 1940's. The reigns were passed on from McCoy to Dennis Agee in 1964 so Dave could focus on developing the ski area, and Dennis along with French man Phillip Mallard coached the team of junior and senior athletes into the 90's before leaving to coach for the US Ski Team for the second time in his career. Mammoths first athlete to make it on to a National team was in 1969 with a long list to follow, the latest to join that list being Stacey Cook in 2005.

With the emergence and growing popularity of snowboarding, Mammoth started a team in the early 1990's with a Freeride team to follow in the late 90's. Now with one of the best Parks in the country our Snowboard and Freeride Teams have World Class terrain at their disposal.

From the early days Mammoth has attracted coaches from all over the world to coach its athletes, with staff from Australia, Chile, France, New Zealand, Switzerland and the United Kingdom to name a few. Of course we also have coaching staff from all over the United States, many of whom have gone on to coach for the US Ski Team.

Mammoth Ski and Snowboard Team is dedicated to developing good athletes, good students and good citizens, with over 350 athletes from ages 6 to 21 from the local town of Mammoth to Southern California and abroad.
