Scenic Gondola
The summit of Mammoth at 11,053 feet is perhaps the most stunning view you'll find in California. Enjoy 360 degree views of over 400 miles of high altitude peaks. But don't be fooled by the remote elevation – once you reach the top you'll discover there's plenty to do. From the Top of the Sierra Interpretive Center to the Top of the Sierra Café, you'll be amazed at what you find above 11,000 feet.
The Panorama Gondola is open for Scenic Rides from now until September 19.

Explore the Eastern Sierra at the first interpretive center of its kind. Located at the summit of Mammoth Mountain at 11,053 feet, stop in before you hike or ride down from the peak to learn about the natural history of Mammoth and the Eastern Sierra.
Displays and topics include:
- Volcanic history
- Geology
- Weather patterns
- Cultural heritage
- Views of the Eastern Sierra landscape - the Minarets, Mono Lake, and 400 miles of peaks averaging 12,000 feet in elevation.
Admission is free with that day's Scenic Gondola Ride ticket, Bike Park ticket or a valid season pass.
Top of the Sierra Interpretive Center opened on March 17, 2007. Over six years of research and planning went into this project. Content was developed by a coalition of community members, representatives from the US Geological Survey, US Forest Service, Paiute Tribal Council and local environmental organizations.
