Why are there various price points for the MVP based on when I purchase?

Mammoth wants to reward those guests who buy early and motivate passholders to get their passes squared away for next season. Offering tiered pricing and tiered rewards are ways we can keep the program affordable while maintaining program viability.

When will my new MVP be valid?

If you are new to the program or coming back after a lapse in membership, you may begin using your MVP15 for skiing and riding as soon as your purchase is complete. New MVP15s will be valid for use the remainder of the 13/14 season as well as the entire 14/15 season.

Can I use my pass at June Mountain?

What is this tiered, Resort Credit, Renewal Reward Program?

Mammoth wants to reward its loyal passholders who renew first. During the MVP15 early renewal period we are offering a resort credit rebate based on when passes are purchased.

There are limited numbers of $200 and $100 resort credits available. Purchase early to get yours. Passes sold after the reward offer expires will get no resort credit.

The resort credit will be issued on a resort credit card and mailed to guests who qualify in the fall of 2014. The funds are valid beginning November 1, 2014. Any unused resort credits will expire on March 31, 2015. Children 12 and under, and adults 80 and over do not qualify for the resort credit. Resort credits cannot be used to purchase season passes, passcash, airfare, or gift cards. Resort credits can be used at any MMSA food and beverage, lodging, retail, or tickets outlet.

What is Bonus PassCash and what are its benefits?

Bonus PassCash is credit loaded onto your season pass during the Early Spring Pass Sale period ONLY and is good at any Mammoth Mountain operated business starting on June 15, 2014. It’s great for kids of all ages who don’t want to worry about carrying cash or credit cards when they’re on the hill. If you load PassCash during the spring pass sales period in $100 increments, we’ll add in a 20% bonus (for instance if you buy $100, we’ll credit your pass with $120). But this promotion is available only at the time of purchase and available in $100 increments.

What are my payment options?

We highly recommend using a credit card to purchase your pass because it is the only way to guarantee that we have your order. We accept Visa, MasterCard or American Express with online purchases. For mail-in payment other than a credit card (i.e. money order, etc.) or for international orders, please call Mammoth Vacations at 760.934.0745 between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm PST. Please note that if we do not receive mail-in orders by the date the sale ends we will not be able to process your order, regardless of postmark date.

Is entering my credit card information online safe?

Yes. We use the latest encryption methods to make sure that your personal information is safe and every transaction is secure.

May I use my Courtesy Vouchers to purchase a Mammoth Value Pass?

No. Courtesy Vouchers do not have cash value. They are only valid toward the purchase of another day of skiing, rentals or ski school lessons— not season passes. However, vouchers are transferable so you may pass them on to someone who will be able to use them.

May I use a Mammoth Gift Card to purchase my Mammoth Value Pass?

When and where can I pick up my MVP?

Renewing passholders will continue to use existing passes which will be reactivated for use next year on October 1, 2014.  Liability releases for 2014/15 must be submitted. If Liability Releases are not received by opening day, passes will be deactivated and guests will have to go to the front line to sign the Liability release and have their pass activated.  New members can pick up their passes at a ticket window beginning immediately after purchase.  The Mountain Center, Canyon and Eagle Lodges are planned to close as of April 20, so pick up at the Main Lodge will be the only option after that date.

If I purchase a Pass and then for some reason am unable to use it, or even pick it up, can I get a refund or credit?

No. Mammoth Passes are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another person or season. Please consider purchasing Pass Protection to protect your investment.

What if I lose my pass?

There is a fee for replacing a lost pass. Simply bring a photo ID with you to the ticket window during business hours for a replacement pass.

What if I forget my pass?

You will have the opportunity to purchase a lift ticket for $10 (for up to a 3-day ticket) by showing a photo ID at the Main Lodge, Canyon Lodge, Eagle Lodge or the Village's Mountain Center ticket window during business hours.

Why is a youth pass for ages 13-18?

Mammoth Mountain uses the age of 18 as the upper limit on a youth pass based on the average age of most high school seniors. Eighteen is the age of a legal adult.

How do I know which age/price range I am in if I'm on the cusp?

We determine the age/price range you fall under using your age as of scheduled Opening Day. If you are purchasing a Mammoth Mountain Pass this date is November 6, 2014. If you are purchasing a Mountain Bike Park Pass this date is June 20, 2014. If you are purchasing a Tamarack Cross Country Ski Pass this date is Nov. 26, 2014.

Do I get a free Season Pass for my child that is under 6 years old?

We offer complimentary lift tickets to children 6 and under. If you would rather get a season pass to bypass the ticket windows, there is a processing fee of $25 for a 6 and under season pass with proof of age (birth certificate) and valid Adult MVP Pass. The 6 and under passes can be obtained at Mammoth Mountain ticket counters. Child must be 6 years old or under as of November 6, 2014 to qualify for pass.

I'm over 80 years old. Do I get a free Season Pass?

Season passes for seniors incur a $25 processing fee, with proof of age. 80 and over passes can only be purchased at a Mammoth Mountain ticket counter or through 800.MAMMOTH. There is no time limit to purchase an 80 and over pass.

My children take lessons during most visits to Mammoth. Should I buy passes for them?

A lift ticket is complimentary for children enrolled in group lessons. If your child is always in a lesson, a pass is not necessary. However, you will need to purchase a ticket for your child on days they wish to ski and are not enrolled in a group lesson. Please note: Private lessons require a ticket/pass.

If I bought a pass for my child in the spring and they decide to join the Mammoth Junior Race Team in the fall, can I get a refund on their pass?

Mammoth Season Passes are non-refundable and non-transferable. Please contact Race Team for clarification.

I would like to buy passes now and assign names later. Is that possible?

Mammoth Season Passes are non-transferable and must have a name assigned to them at the time of purchase. Once purchased, passes are non-refundable and non-transferable to another person or season.

What Season Passes can I purchase if I miss the early MVP sales window?

The MVP early pricing sale is the guaranteed lowest price on unrestricted skiing and riding during the 2014/15 season. The pass will still be available for sale after the initial discounted period, but not at the same price.

If I decide not to use my MVP in 2014/2015, can I transfer it to next year?

No. Once purchased, passes are non-refundable and non-transferable to another person or season.  Please consider purchasing Pass Insurance to protect your investment.

My child is under 7 in the 2014/2015 season. Will they be able to get MVP Pass pricing in future years?

Yes, the MVP club is now open to everyone.

How will I receive Activity Pass Add-ons?

Bike Park and Sierra Star activity passes can be picked up this summer when you visit. Tamarack passes need to be picked up at Tamarack and will not be mailed.

What will I need with me to pick up my pass?

A valid photo ID is required to pick up your pass. Youth, child and senior passes will require proof of age (i.e. copy of birth certificate, passport, driver's license, etc.) at the time of pick up. The ID you present must show your appropriate age/year on or before November 6, 2014. New passholders must have their photo taken to pick up their pass. For your security, photos must be taken on-site and in person, which means we cannot accept mailed-in photos.

I look nothing like my picture from last season. Can I get another one taken?

Yes. You may have your picture retaken at a ticket window. Please bring your pass with you along with a photo ID to get a new photo. For your security, photos must be taken on-site, in person, which means we will not accept mailed-in photos.

Can someone else pick up my pass for me?

For your security the passholder must be present, whether a new photo is needed or not.

When am I eligible for MVP benefits?

Passholders are eligible for any Mammoth MVP benefits during the time the Pass itself is valid.

How will you let me know about MVP discounts/benefits?

The best way to stay in touch is to provide us with your e-mail address. Sign up now to receive e-mail alerts.

Please note: we do not sell or share your information outside of Mammoth Mountain Ski Area.

What other benefits are offered to passholders?

MVPs get great discounts on lodging, discounted lift tickets for friends, 10% off purchases of $100 or more at our retail stores, discounts on equipment rentals up to 10%, discounts for amazing events like concerts, winemaker dinners and more. Check out our MVP Benefits page for more info.

Is there a payment plan for MVP or MVP Premium?

No. For the 13/14 season, we offered an installment program, but because of extremely low participation, that program has been discontinued.

Can I get a refund on my pass?

There are NO REFUNDS on Season Passes - even if the Season Pass is never picked up or used. The only exception to the NO REFUND policy is for those who opt to purchase Season Pass Protection. Mammoth Mountain offers this voluntary, opt-in program to help you protect your purchase.  By purchasing Season Pass Protection, you may be able to receive a refund on all or a portion of the cost of your Pass if you are unable to begin or finish the 2014-2015 winter season in the event of documented injury/illness, pregnancy, relocation (some restrictions apply) or military deployment.
